Blue Print Design
Once your floorplans are ready for your renovation,
we are happy to help you with the following NEXT STEPS:
We help make your ideas buildable! You tell us what is not working in your space and what you are hoping to gain and we figure out how to create a space that functions well and brings you joy. We create a set of plans that you can give to your General Contractors to get quotes, building permits and ultimately build your new space. Depending on the size and scope of your project, technical plans from an engineer may be required.
-Design and create 3-D Drawings for built-ins and cabinetry.
-Create a lighting plan to give to the electrical team.
-Design furniture layout plans.
-Attend site meetings during construction to help find solutions
to any design issues that may arise during constructions.
-Project guide, helping you know when it's time to make what decisions.

We start with a complimentary VISIT to learn about your project and discuss how we might be able to help in the design process. After the visit, we will let you know how much it will COST for us to create a floorplan for your project. If you are interested in moving forward, we will make a time to come measure your space. Then we start DESIGNING! We input the measurements of your space into our computer program and then create one or more 2-D floorplan options. Once the plans are ready (usually within 2 weeks), we will meet to discuss the FLOORPLAN OPTIONS. Lastly, we make any tweaks and create the final plans, which include the scope of work of the project.
The FINAL PLANS are printed on larger paper and include more measurements for the contractors.
Depending on the scale and scope of your project, your builder may need you to hire an engineer for technical plans.

Once 2-D plans are finalized, we are happy to help with ADDITIONAL RENOVATION DETAILS (listed in "what we do"), including designing and creating 3-D drawings of built-ins and cabinetry, creating lighting plans, providing direction on next steps, and working with you and your contractors to address any issues that may arise during construction.

She has a Master’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning, and was a City Planner before staying home with her children when they were little. She has had a life-long love for house design and started creating floor plans at a very young age. Once she decided to pursue her passion for design as a career, she took design courses to augment her design skill set. She lives in Hamilton, MA with her husband, 4 children, 3 chickens and a crazy dog. She knows the importance of creating spaces that work hard and bring joy!
Putting on an addition to their cozy cape, allowed this family to gain a side entrance, a mudroom and a spacious kitchen that flows nicely to all the other rooms in the house. They also gained space upstairs that is unfinished for now but will become a primary bedroom suite someday in the near future.
A family that is always welcoming family and friends into their home, wanted to transform their unfinished basement into a welcoming family room with a kitchenette and guest bedroom with an en suite bathroom. We also carved out a space for an office and an art space for the kids, while leaving plenty of unfinished space for storage and a work bench.
The lower cabinets in this kitchen remained relatively untouched, besides a great paint job and a few tweaks. The long row of upper cabinets were removed and replaced with double glass door cabinets flanking the new hood and range. The new fridge was moved over to create an "appliance garage" behind accordion doors to the right of the fridge. A built-in desk was removed and replaced with a floor to ceiling pantry. This is a great example that you don't always need to do a full renovation to create a kitchen that feels and functions like a new one.
